Wendy Sandler, PhD. Wendy Sandler grew up with a love for books. She spent much of her childhood reading, and began writing her own poetry at the age of nine. She received her B.A. in Human Development from the University of California San Diego in 2003, and later went on to receive her M.S. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University, C.W. Post in 2008. She became a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Massachusetts in 2009. Her early training experiences included adolescent inpatient therapy at Bronx Children's Psychiatric Center, and individual child therapy and forensic psychology assessments at North Shore University Hospital on Long Island. Her postdoctoral clinical work was done at the Cambridge Eating Disorder Center, as well as at Stoney Brook Counseling Center, a community mental health clinic for individual, family, and couples therapy. She currently stays at home full time with her three young children, where she is eagerly waiting to introduce the joys of Beverly Cleary and the Babysitters Club books to them, all of which she has saved from when she was little.
